One of this team's goals at the beginning of the season was to finish in the top three of the London league. With an assembled group of multi-talented individuals this goal seemed achievable. As the team entered into its final week-end of league play they had a strong contention to finish first in their division and capture the League Championship.

Sarnia FC's first competition of the day was against the St. Thomas Strikers. The boys knew prior to the game their task at hand and realized that the League Championship was in their grasp. From the opening kick-off Sarnia dominated the play and maintained continuous pressure in the St. Thomas end of the pitch. Sarnia had many opportunities to score however the Striker keeper stood tall in goal. It wasn't until the 16th minute of action that Sarnia would finally break the scoreless deadlock. Sarnia mid-fielder Nathan Hawkes would fire a bullet in the left corner of the St. Thomas goal which would evoke a bolt of energy in the Sarnia players. Sarnia would score an additional 5 goals to close out the game with a 6 - 0 victory.

Sarnia goal scorers were: Nathan Hawkes (2), Isaiah Edlington (2), Mateo Troiani and Joshua Allen. Sarnia keeper Andrew Harron would earn his 5th shutout of the season with some solid help from the FC back five defenders. A great team effort on all parts of the field.

Final Score: Sarnia FC 6 - St. Thomas Strikers 0.

The second leg of competition came by means of the Oakridge Dynamite. Sarnia was hoping to close out the day with a win and solidify their grasp on the League title. From the start of play both teams came out firing with a high intensity pace and plenty of soccer action. Sarnia would draw first blood however, as mid-fielder Nathan Hawkes sent the perfect through ball to striker Mateo Troiani who did not disappoint and placed the perfect shot into the right corner of the Oakridge goal. Sarnia would later add to their lead as left mid-fielder Jack Hutchinson would pound on a loose ball and rocket it into the Dynamite net. The team never looked back from that point on and continued pressuring Oakridge deep in their end. Three more Sarnia goals were scored by: James Brown (2) and Michael Howe. The Sarnia defense stood tall shutting down numerous Oakridge attempts. Strong effort was visible from defenders: Alex Newall, Christian D'Agostini, Dean Palimaka, Cameron Hoek and Nathan Ingles.

As the final buzzer sounded, the Sarnia FC bench erupted in jubilation as the boys accomplished what they had set out to do - Earn a Championship!

The team grew as the season went on and executed to perfection. They finished with a record of 13 Wins, 3 Ties and only 2 Losses. They had a goals for/against ratio of plus 63.  Fine effort and powerful showing.

All coaches and parents were "very" proud of the boys accomplishments throughout the season!
