Sarnia, On – General Manager Jacques Beaulieu announced that the hockey club has signed Ryan Vendramin to an OHL Standard Player Agreement.
Vendramin a native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario was the 13th round selection of the Sting in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection out of the Sault Ste. Marie North Stars program.
Vendramin is with the North Stars once again this season as they get set to host the Telus Cup at the end of April.
Vendramin has had a prolific season with the North Stars scoring 47 goals in just 34 games.
Jacques Beaulieu commented on the signing of Vendramin.
“Ryan is a bit of a late bloomer who was initially passed over in his first year of eligibility. Our Northern scout John Davison was really impressed with him last season and convinced us to take him with a late round pick. It appears to have really paid off as Ryan has demonstrated this season what a natural goal scorer he is. He will need to work on his strength and skating this summer but his hands and shot are both OHL ready.”
