At home on Saturday at the RBC Centre for their first game of the weekend, the Minor Peewee's were edged out by the Sun County Panthers by a final score of 2 - 1.The Panthers went up 2 - 0 after the first period. In the second the Jr Sting put the pressure on while on a power play and Kyle Kachan found the back of the net assisted by Cory Smith and Nolan DeGurse.
In the third period the pressure continues from both sides but great defensive play at both ends kept the period scoreless. The Jr Sting pull netminder LucThorne-Smith for a final push but were unable to score for the tie.
On Sunday the Minor Peewee traveled to Windsor to take on the Jr. Spitfires for the last league game of the season. In the season final the Jr. Sting dropped a 5 - 1 decision.
The Jr. Spitfires scored three unanswered goals in the first period. In the second period both sides exchanged goals giving Windsor a 4 - 1 lead.
Play began deep in Lambton's end with a series of plays starting with Ryan Barwitzki who brought the puck out with Matt McIntyre helping. Puck is passed up to Dylan Ridell who finds Cory Smith who slaps it in for the Stings only goal. In the third period the Jr Spitfires added their fifth goal. The Spitfires held off the attack of the Jr Sting even in the final minute with a Sting 5 on 3 the Jr Sting were unable to push up the score.
The Minor Peewee placed fourth in the West Division with a record of 11 - 17 - 4 for a total of 26 points. Next up the team will compete in the Minor Peewee Playdowns.
