The Sarnia FC U9 Select team headed down Highway #402 to London to compete in the annual BMO Scrooge Indoor Soccer tournament over the weekend. This squad has been playing competitive soccer for the past two seasons and had some high hopes entering the tournament on Sunday.

Their first opponent of the day were the South West All Stars. Sarnia FC came out flying and would dominate possession exemplifying some great skill and team work. They would easily handle the London squad with a 6 - 0 win.  Their second match of the afternoon would find them pitted against the South West Black and Red team.  Sarnia FC would once again prove to be too strong a force and easily win their second in a row by a score of  7 - 0.  The St. Thomas Storm was the next opponent in line for Sarnia and their third match of the day. Sarnia FC once again came to play and continued to execute with perfection. As the final buzzer sounded, Sarnia FC once again came out on top with their third shut-out 6 - 0.

Sarnia would face the South West Red & Black team in the semi-finals. Another dominate performance by the kids in Red as they entertained the audience with their solid game play cruising to a 7 - 0 final and trip to the Championship game.

The U9 Finals would find Sarnia FC up against their first opponent of the day, the South West All Stars.  Sarnia was up and ready for the competition and anxiously awaited the opening kick-off.  South West came to play as well and proved to be worthy opponents in the finals. After 25 minutes of soccer action, the final horn blew sending jubilation along the Sarnia sidelines as the Sarnia FC U9's won the title with a convincing  3 - 1 victory!

A HUGE thank-you to coaches Jim Tsaprailis and Gavin Maddock for all their dedication and time spent training these fine young athletes. It is great to know that the future looks bright and prosperous for Sarnia FC as these athletes represent their Club for years to come!
