Knights’ Max Domi Named OHL Player of the Week
tuesday december 17, 2013

Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League announced that Phoenix Coyotes prospect Max Domi of the London Knights is the OHL Player of the Week after leading the league in scoring with 11 points in four games for the week ending December 15 netting five goals and six assists with a plus-minus rating of plus-4.

Domi helped the Knights pick up seven of a possible eight points last week to maintain second place in the OHL standings with a 25-6-1-2 record.  He began the week on the road Tuesday night against Midwest Division rivals the Kitchener Rangers where he notched his first four-point game of the season scoring twice including the game-tying goal with less than two minutes to play in regulation also adding two assists as part of the 6-4 win.  On Friday night he contributed two points including a goal and an assist on Brett Welychka’s second period game-winner in a 5-2 win over the third place Guelph Storm, then recorded an assist on Saturday in a 4-3 shootout loss to the first place Erie Otters.  His week wrapped up Sunday with another four-point performance scoring twice including two first period goals along with two assists including setting-up Matt Rupert’s third period game-winner to earn first star honours in a 6-4 win over the Kingston Frontenacs.

Domi, an 18-year-old from Toronto, ON, is playing in his third OHL season with the Knights.  Selected 12th overall by the Coyotes in the 2013 NHL Draft, Domi is now tied for 20th in league scoring with 42 points in 28 games and is currently riding a season-high six game point-streak after producing 87 points in 64 games last season.
