Sarnia Jr Sting Minor Peewee MD Win Second Exhibition

September 22, 2012

It Wasn't pretty.... but they got the job done

The Jr. Sting Minor PeeWee MD team played their second exhibition game of the season vs. The Mooretown Storm on Friday night at the Old Barn in Sarnia.

The game started out on a positive note, the fans were ready, the music was rocking, and the Sting were ready to Roll.

The coaching staff did a bit of juggling, moving some players around, seeing what combinations would start to click.

The Jr Sting got off to a game opening lead at 6:03, when Spencer Baillie got his first of the year, on a pass from Hayden Griffin. The Storm was not going to go out quietly, and tied the game at 3:53 on a goal from Hunter Round, with assists to Jake Vandersteen and Jeffery Barclay.
The game went back/forth, with each team trying to find its way. Tyler Talbot - Ellis was throwing his body all over, with Colin Zimmer matching him for body checks.  The Storm got a number of opportunities, however Cam Stevens kept the game tied up!

Later in the Second, the Sting finally amassed some pressure in the Storm end. The puck was kept in by the Jr Sting D, and went over to Evan Trigatti who passed over to Kaleb Zeytinoglu. Kaleb handed it over to Cole Goossens, who fired a low shot past the goalie to give the Sting the lead at 4:14 of the Second. Hayden Griffin and Josh D'Angela had a few great chances in the third, but were not able to bang the puck home !

The Game Ended on a positive note for the Sting..... JR. STING 2 - Storm - 1

The Coaching staff was happy an ugly one was over, and had great praise for the Storm team that had just started playing together in the past weeks.
