Legionnaires acquire Veteran Centre from St. Thomas Stars

September 20, 2012 By Dan McCaffery

The Sarnia Legionnaires have acquired a veteran centre from the St. Thomas Stars.

In a straight cash deal, the Legionnaires picked up Davis Boyer, an 18-year-old entering his third season of Jr. 'B' hockey.

"He's got major speed, great hands and is really competitive,” coach Dan Rose said. “He's a quality hockey player and a great kid.”

Boyer, who is from Thessalon, Ontario, played two seasons with St. Thomas, scoring 25 goals and 28 assists. He also helped the Stars win the Weir Cup as 2011 Western Jr. 'B' champs.

Prior to that, he scored 33 goals in 42 games as a midget player in the Soo. While playing midget hockey he was named his squad's most dedicated player.

Boyer will be in the lineup tonight when the Legionnaires host the Lambton Shores Predators.

Game time at the Brock Street Barn is set for 7:10 p.m.
