
In a battle of
1-1 teams the Mechanical Contractor's Association Toros overwhelmed the Sylvan
Learning Centre Bears 40-0. The Toros scored early and often opening up a 32-0
lead at halftime. Jamie Campbell led the attack with touchdown runs of 46, 3 and
57 yards. Drew Bradshaw scored the other on a 25 yard pass and run play from
Campbell. Aden Alkinani scored the only major of the second half when he
galloped for 19 yards up the middle. Dale Leivo successfully converted all 5
majors.
In the nightcap the Sarnia Police Association Tiger Sharks hung on for a 29-20
victory over a much improved performance by the Mammoet Crane Incorporated
Mammoths. Nick Snow opened the scoring for the Mammoths on a 1 yard quarterback
sneak. A convert by Rory Pickle staked the underdogs to an 8-0 lead. The Tiger
Sharks fought back and took the lead on touchdown runs of 1 yard and 92 yards by
Austin Clement. Converts by Holden Mathany and Keyshaun Jordan put the
undefeated Tiger Sharks up 15-8. On the last play of the half, Jordan
intercepted a pass and returned it 90 yards for a touchdown. His convert gave
the Tiger Sharks a 23-8 lead at the break in a half where the Mammoths dominated
the time of possession. Jordan scored an additional touchdown in the second half
for the victors. Patrick Miller rumbled in from 3 yards out for a major and
Robert Graham sped into the end zone from 14 yards for the Mammoths as they
outscored the Tiger Sharks 12-6 in the second half.
