LSSAA Sports Season Begins

LSSAA kicked off on Tuesday September 18 with two games in Junior Girls Soccer.  The St Clair Colts shut out SCITS in a close 1 - 0 game with Megan Alderman scoring for the Colt and Breanne Newton earning the shut out in net.  St. Christopher also shut out NLSS by a score of 1  - 0 on a goal scored by A. Petitfrere.

In Junior Boys soccer action SCITS dominated and took a 5 - 0 win over St. Clair.  Xander Burley and Cooper Muxlow each scored two goal and a single by Nick Vail.  Cole Anderson earned the shutout in net.

Junior Girls Basketball took to the courts on Tuesday with St. Clair taking a 47 - 20 win over LCCVI in Petrolia.  Top point getters for St. Clair were Ashley Moore with 13 and 11  for Bailey McAuley.  For LCCVI Sophie Barnes, Josalyn DeVlugt and Katie Proctor each score 4 points each.  In other action St. Christopher defeated SCITS with a final score of 60 - 38.

St. Francois-Xavier won their first game in Junior Boys Volleyball over Northern taking two games with final scores  25 - 16 and  25 - 13.  Northern took 1 game 25 - 20.  Player of the match for St. Francois-Xavier was Arthur Esengi and Geoff Spielman for Northern.

In Senior Boys action St. Francois-Xavier came out on top with 2 wins 25 - 21, 25 - 23 over Northern who took a single match 25 - 18.  James Rozt earned player of the match for St. Francois-Exavier and Quinn Dowding for Northern.

Coming up,

Football season with five schools participating this year.  Teams competing are St. Christopher, LCCVI, SCITS, Northern, and St. Pat's.
Opening games for the Juniors is set for Thursday with St. Christopher at LCCVI and SCITS at Northern.  Both games begin at 3:30pm.

Five teams will be competing for the Senior title this season with the opening kickoff set for Friday with SCITS at Northern and St Pat's at St. Clair.  Game time 3:30 pm. St. Christopher is also competing in the Senior division this season.
