Legionnaires Lost in St. Mary's Friday

St. Mary's - The Sarnia Legionnaires suffer their third loss in a row in this early beginnings in Greater Ontario Jr B Hockey after taking a 5 - 3 loss against the St. Marys Lincolns Friday night.

 

The Lincolns took a 2 - 0 lead in the first period with David Sproat scoring the first goal on a power play and Owen MacDonald scoring the second.  Another power play goal in the second gave St. Marys a 3 - 0 lead.  Steve Farlow put the Legionnaires on the scoreboard at 9:04 with assistance from Hunter Tyczynski and Derek D'Andrea.  Owen MacDonald scored his second goal three minutes later and the Lincolns held onto the 4 - 1 lead heading into the third. Two minutes into the third Mike Mandarelli gave St Marys 5th and final goal of the game.  Sarnia now down by four came back with two goals the first by Jason Teschke on the powerplay assisted by Zack Tuchklaper and Steve Farlow and their final goal by Thomas Moxley from Spencer Bronzi.

 

Andrew Ganter took the loss turning away 21 shots.  Craig Wood earned the win also with 21 saves.  Sarnia went 1 for 5 in power play opportunities, St. Marys went 2 for 5.

 

The Legionnaires look for their first win of the season back at home on Thursday September 20 when they host County rivals Lambton Shores Predators.  Game time 7:10 at the Sarnia Arena.
