Mezzatesta Opens Bowling Season with 765 Triple

Roy Mezzatesta, bowling at Marcin Bowl in the Thursday Night Border City Men’s League, started his season with a solid 765 (267-254-244) to record the high triple in the opening week in Sarnia and District 10 – Pin bowling league action. Laura Robertson rolled an honourable 678 (235) in the Marcin Wednesday Night Ladies League to record the ladies high triple of the week.

Leading the ladies were Colleen Ireland 579 (227), Rachel McGrath 563 (202-202) and Kayla Avery 561 (206).

In Marcin Bluewater Men’s League flurry, dominant scores were Jim Creasor 682 (235), Mark McCarthy 629 (246), Drew McLean 625 (226-241), Mason McCarthy 623 (229) and Dave Willson 223. Team standings are 403 Wing 33, A & W Locksmith 26, Napa Auto 24, SCR 23, Jerry’s TV 18, Northgate Home Hardware 16 and Ligate Signs 9.

 Other notable scores in the Wednesday Night Ladies League were Janice McMillan 648 (224) and Joyce VanEkeren 235. Team standings are Investors Group 22, Team Six 16, Team Eight 15, M.V.B’s 14, Smiley Girlz 9, Split Decision 8, P T Crushers 7 and New Front 1.

In Marcin Tuesday Night Men’s League play, top scores were Glenn Crowe 654 (225), Shawn Cotterill 653 (241), Scott Salmons 258, Victor Horvath 237, Jim Lapointe 225, David Brunder 223, Alex Matena 223 and Rudy De Garcia 222. Last week’s high scores were Jim Lapointe 687 (260-244), George Reid 685 (263), Mel Matthews 253, Glenn Crowe 245, Shawn Cotterill 236 and Scott Salmons 233. Team standings are Canadian National ATM 12, Hiawatha Horse Park 9, D & D Flooring Installations 7, Top Coat Painting 7, Team Two 5 and Billie Boxes 2.

In Marcin Sarnia Reserve Mixed League play, Jo Ellen Beveridge led the women with 613 (209-213). On the men’s side, Matt Isaac was tops with 656 (222-226). Wilson Plain chipped in with a         215.

In Marcin Thursday Night Mixed League fun, the ladies upper scores were Pam Marciniszyn 645 (247), Marsha Pinel 585 (223), Janice McMillan 528 (213), Betty Baldwin 520 and Joan Tuer 192. Shane Chipman led the men with 626 (224) followed by Rigby Callander 236, Tom Dadswell 228, Buck McIver 223 and Pete Baker 200.

In Marcin House Thursday Night Men’s League action, leading scores were Mel Kongus 659 (232-253), Peter MacRae 659 (234), Bill Cole 652 (245), Fred Cole 630, Tony Spano 246 and Al Scott 237. Team standings are Marcin Bowl 13, Morlo Yardscapes 11, Lambton Climate Care 11, Tomlinson Enterprises 5 and Lambton Alloys 4.

In Marcin Triple A Mixed League activity, the ladies noted scores were Lynne Hood 542, Michelle Drew Jones 540 (214), Shelley Thompson 535 (220) and Sondra Callum 523 (204). The men’s top scores were Walter Amyotte 613 (215), Rob Vandermeer 600 (219) and Dave Jones 213. In Marcin Wednesday Night Mixed League action, the women’s high scores were Sue Bayly 488 (173), Marion McLeod 444, Cindy Carroll 439, Shirley Spinks 186 and Val Eggleton 180. The men’s upper scores were Steve Shanks 648 (233), Sandy Paine 628 (243) and Tom Colbran 205.

In Marcin National Mixed League fun, the ladies top scores were Maureen Chodkiewicz 452 (171), Darilyn McKeegan 447 (172), Dorothy Vail 430 and Patricia Neilsen 167. The men’s top scores were Mike Vanderburgt 463 (167) and Malcolm Carr 442 (155).

In Marcin Sunday Morning Ladies League play, leading scores were Deb Jones 558 (214), Brenda Dennis 538 (214) and Michelle Fraser 511.

In Marcin St. Joe’s Mixed League action, the ladies noted scores were Cori Landon 568 (200-213), Tonie Verbeek 530 (182), Pattie Wyville 194 and Amanda McCabe 181. The men’s top scores were Jarrod Petrany 557 (231), Joe Borody 553 (209) and Mike Pevec 200.

In the Marcin SMAA Preps division, the girl’s top scores were Morgan Pelkie 351 (129-130), Madison Kehler 331 (120) and Hollie-Anne Jean 294 (109). The boy’s upper scores were Ethan Boucher 410 (139), Jacob Bestard 373 (156) and Ryan Kameka 326 (140).

In the Marcin SMAA Senior Bantams division, the girl’s best scores were Paige Jean 218 (75-74) and Skylar Thompson 107 (41). Ryan Gruben was the boy’s top roller with 303 (113). Ryan Pinel added a 74 single and Jaden Gare’s best game was 66.

In the Marcin SMAA Majors division, the ladies high scores were Rachel McGrath 529 (189), Carrie Plain 451 (166), Bryanne Vaillancourt 445 (168) and Jessica Tetreault 170. Ben Walker led the gents with 589 (202), followed by Keegan Vaillancourt 516 (220), Brandon Edwards 512 (210), Travis Tetreault 185 and Andrew Cushing 179.

In the Marcin SMAA Juniors division, Samantha Creasor was the girl’s top shooter with 510 (187). Madison Vaillancourt rolled 448 (166). The boy’s high  rollers were Tyler Edwards 551 (200), Josha Trott 437 (174), Collin Hanley 436 and Jacob Busby-McEachern 178.
