
In Great Lakes Jr C Hockey the Wallaceburg Lakers hosted the Dresden Kings and it took 10 turns in shootout to decide the game winner with the Kings coming up with the extra goal to take the 3 - 2 win.
Wallaceburg scored the first two goals of the game with Barry Braun and Kyle Jacobson scoring. Before the period was over Dresden answered with a pair to tie things up. Macks Holmes and Taylor Sisson scored for the Kings. In both the second and third and overtime periods the two sides went scoreless sending the game to a shootout. Wallaceburg penalty kill line held the Kings off as the Kings went scoreless on eleven power play opportunities. The Lakers went scoreless on six opportunities. Scoring for the Kings in Shootout were Jesse Allen and Cam Ross. Jeff Nolfo scored the lone goal for Wallaceburg.
Kings goalie Brent Paxton recorded 43 saves in the win, Devine Cove made 40 saves.
Wallaceburg is now 0 - 2 after taking a 6 - 0 loss against Blenheim in their season opener in Blenheim. The Lakers are back in action on Wed Sept 16 when they host Kingsville in Wallaceburg. Game time 7:30 pm.
