Sarnia Sting Held on to Win over Spitfires

In exhibition on Sunday at the RBC Center, Bryan Moore, Reid Boucher, Anthony DeAngelo and Alex Galchenyuk all had a goal and an assist to lead the Sting offence in the 4 - 3 win over the Windsor Spitfires.


The Sting led 4-1 in the third period before Windsor narrowed the gap with a pair of late goals. Galchenyuk’s goal at 12:46 turned out to be the game winner.

J.P. Anderson was solid in net going the distance and earning the win. Sarnia outshot Windsor 35-29. 

Jordan Maletta, Sam Studnicka and Derek Schoenmakers scored for Windsor.  Jaroslav Pavelka played goal for Windsor.

The Sting are back in action on Thursday when they host the Saginaw Spirit beginning at 7:05 p.m. at the RBC Centre. They conclude their exhibition schedule next Sunday in Windsor.

The 68-game regular season begins Sept. 21st when the Sting hosts the Belleville Bulls. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
