The Sarnia
Jr. Sting
Major Atom
MD handed
the London
Nationals
their first
regular
season loss
by defeating
them 4-1 at
the Germain
arena on
Thursday
January 26.
The
Nationals
opened the
scoring on a
two man
advantage
late in the
first
period,
however,
that would
be the only
goal London
would be
able to
muster as
Stevie
Schaefer
played an
awesome game
in goal for
the Jr.
Sting.
In the
second Cole
Goossens
would score
from Ryan
Eyre and
Damon
Skinn-Wai at
the 9 minute
mark and add
another
unassisted a
few minutes
later. Evan
Trigatti
would score
later in the
second from
Cole Goosens
and Kaz
Gudelis.
In the third
Spencer
Baillie
would bounce
back from a
hard check
to put the
puck behind
the London goalie. Mathew Waun would draw the
assist.
Stevie
Schaefer was
awarded the
coach's
player of
the game and
Evan
Trigatti was
the parents
player of
the game.
Sarnia continue a rare two game home stand as
they face
the
Stratford
Warriors on
Saturday
January 28
at the
Clearwater
Arena. Game
time is 12
noon.
