Michael Marinaro and Margaret Purdy skated this past weekend at the Canadian figure skating championships in Moncton NB.

 

Marinaro and Purdy skated in the Senior Pair category where they placed 6th.   They had a personal best in short program and skated very well in the free program to hold onto their 6th place finish.

At the conclusion of the  2012 Canadian Figure Skating Championships Skate Canada CEO William Thompson and High Performance Director Mike Slipchuk named the teams for the three upcoming ISU Championships.  Three pairs which included Marinaro and Purdy were selected to represent Canada at the ISU Junior World Figure Skating Championships, Minsk, Belarus, February 27 – March 4, 2012.
