Cup this
past
weekend
January
20-22
making
it to
the
championship
game
before
falling
to the
Victory
Honda
Detroit
team
5-4.
Sarnia
started
off the
tournament
on
Friday
January
20th by
tying
the
LaSalle
Major
Atom AA
Sabers
2-2.
Cole
Goossens
scored
from
Collin
Zimmer
in the
first
period
and
Collin
Zimmer
scored
in the
second
from
Damon
Skinn-Wai.
Cameron
Stevens
was
between
the
pipes
for
Sarnia
this
game.
Evan
Trigatti
earned
the
coach's
player
of the
game
puck and
Nathan
Abbott
was the
parent's
choice.
Sarnia
next
faced
the
Orchard
Lake
Warriors
on
Saturday
January
21st and
won by a
score of
5-0.

a pizza
party
then
enjoyed
watching
the
Detroit
Red
Wings
defeat
the
Columbus
Blue
Jackets
in an
exciting
shoot-out
at the
"Joe".
On
Sunday
morning
they
were
back at
Joe
Louis
Arena,
but this
time it
was the
Jr.
Sting
skating
on the
ice with
the big
winged
wheel at
center!
Sarnia
faced
the
North
Toronto
Minor
Atom "A"
team and
had a
convincing
8-0 win.
Scoring
for
Sarnia
was Mat
Waun
with a
hat-trick,
Spencer
Baillie,
Collin
Zimmer,
Greg
Ross,
Nathan
Oliphant
and Cole
Goossens.
Assists
were
awarded
to
Beynon
Jonas,
Spencer
Baillie,
Cole
Goossens,
Ian
Bailey,
Mat Waun,
Nathan
Abbott
and
Collin
Zimmer.
The
coach's
picked
Nathan
Oliphant
as the
player
of the
game
while
the
parents
gave Mat
Waun the
nod for
his
hat-trick
at the
"Joe".
Stevie
Schaefer
and
Cameron
Stevens
shared
the
shut-out.
This
effort
landed
the Jr.
Sting a
chance
at the
Motown
Cup as
they
faced
the
Detroit
Area
Victory
Honda
Minor
Squirt
AAA
team.
Unfortunately
Sarnia
was
defeated
5-4 but
still
bring
home
finalist
trophy
to add
to their
other
hardware
this
year.

outstanding
game.
The Jr.
Sting
are back
in
action
on
Thursday
January
26th at
the
Germain
Arena
when
they
face
their
arch-rivals
the
North
London
Nationals.
