On Saturday January
14 the Sarnia Jr.
Sting Major Atom MD
defeated the London
Bandits in London by
a score of 6-4.
Colin Zimmer
started the scoring
at the five minute
mark of the first as
he banged in a
rebound from a Cole
Goossens shot. The
Bandits were in a
feisty mood and
scored three goals
before the first
frame was over.
Now down three to
one, Nathan Oliphant
would score on a
goal-mouth scramble
with three minutes
left in the second.
With one minute left
in the middle period
Ryan Eyre would tie
the game on a wrap
around attempt that
took a few extra
whacks to go in.
The Bandits were
not done and jumped
ahead at the 6
minute mark of the
third to once again
grab the lead.
Spencer Baillie
would get the games
next two goals with
assists going to
Evan Trigatti and
Ryan Eyre. Collin
Zimmer would add an
empty net goal to
complete the come
from behind win.
Cameron Stevens
would earn the
victory in net for
the Jr.
Sting.
Collin Zimmer was
awarded the Coach's
player of the game
puck and Ryan Eyre
was awarded the
Parent's puck. The
Jr. Sting will next
participate in the
Motown Cup on
January 20-22 in
Detroit, Michigan.
