The Sarnia Legionnaires have secured a high scoring right
winger from the
Listowel
Cyclones of the
GOJHL's Midwest
Conference..
Jeff Bauer, a point-a-game man over the past two seasons, has
been obtained in
a straight cash
deal.
"He's a top-six forward,” Legionnaire general manager Bob
Williamson said
in announcing
the acquisition.
In fact, Bauer scored 101 points in 98 Jr. 'B' hockey games
over the past
two winters. In
one contest, he
blinked the red
light four
times.
Last year he enjoyed his best campaign to date, notching 26
goals, including
a league-leading
five shorthanded
markers.
Bauer stands 5'11 and weighs in at 192 pounds. In addition to
his scoring
exploits, he's
said to be a
good two-way
forward and a
top notch
penalty killer.
The 19-year-old Lambeth native, who had a short stint with
the Trenton
Golden Hawks
Tier 2 Jr. 'A'
squad earlier
this fall, said,
“I'm really
excited about
coming to
Sarnia. I've
heard nothing
but good things
about the city
and the team.
Dan Rose always
puts together a
good squad. He
really knows
what he's doing.
I couldn't be
more excited to
play for him.”
He added, “We can make a push for the Suthie (Sutherland Cup
as Ontario
champions) for
sure.”
