Brian Prout Named VP of Sales and Marketing

Sarnia, ON - The Sarnia Sting are proud to announce the appointment of Brian Prout as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing.   This is a homecoming of sorts for Brian as he was born and raised in Corunna and still has a lot of family throughout the area.

Brian attended the University of Windsor and graduated with both an Undergraduate Degree (Class of 1998) and Master’s Degree (Class of 2002) in Human Kinetics with a Sport Management focus.

The bulk of Brian’s work experience comes from his two stints with the Saginaw Spirit Hockey Team (2002-2005; 2007-2010).  Being one of the franchise’s first hires following their relocation in 2002, Brian was an integral part in developing and implementing a Corporate Partnership strategy that still places Saginaw as one of the most successful in the entire CHL.  In 2007, following a sabbatical for family reasons, Brian returned to the Spirit Front Office as the Vice President of Sales & Marketing and managed a successful Corporate Sales and Ticketing team until the beginning of the 2010 Season.

From the end of 2010 until April 2012, Brian lived in Barrie, Ontario and worked with Lightspeed Human Capital Management to build the Corporate Partner portfolio of this global recruiting leader in the wireless technology space.

Most recently, Brian has been working as a consultant for Saginaw Spirit Hockey Club, where he was providing his expertise in event planning and the OHL Outdoor Doubleheader as part of the Hockeytown Winter Festival in Detroit.

“I am extremely excited to be home to the community that was so good to me growing up!  I look forward to joining a very committed and hardworking Sting Front Office team and would like to thank Rob and Larry (Ciccarelli) for the opportunity to come home and help build the Sarnia Sting into the model franchise of the OHL, both on and off the ice!”

In discussing his experience in the OHL, Brian says “For me, it is all about customer service…the fans are the life blood of any major junior hockey franchise and I hope to join the rest of the Sting staff in bringing absolute “raving fan” customer service to the RBC Centre and to the great fans of the Sarnia Sting!”

“If any fan has a suggestion, concern or simply wants to say hello, I want them to feel free to come see me during the games or send me a quick email at bprout@sarniasting.com .  I look forward to reconnecting with the community and getting to know as many Sting fans as possible!”
