Oct.14 2012 - On Sunday afternoon, the Sarnia Lady Sting Atom B team defeated the visiting Stratford Aces by a score of 2-0. After, a scoreless first period. Brooke (Gus) Lauwers opened the scoring with a beautiful goal, compliments of a Brooke Boelens leading pass, through the neutral zone.
There where several wild goal mouth scrambles for both teams, in the second and third periods. Pressing to tie the game, Stratford pulled their goalie and sent out an extra player. From her own end zone, Paula Jackson sealed the win for the Lady Sting with an empty net goal.
Earning the shutout was goaltender Abbie Clouse.
"The team continues to play hard in both ends of the rink and is getting solid goaltending." said Coach Chad Williams "The team is still learning positional play, at this early stage of the season."
The Lady Sting have an upcoming busy schedule, as they play three games in three days. They travel to St.Marys, and Woodstock, before returning for a home game vs London, next Sunday.
