Petrolia Minor Hockey Celebrate 50 Years of Hockey

Petrolia, On - It was a large crowd at the Greenwood Recreation Centre Friday night as the Petrolia Minor Hockey Association celebrated their 50th Anniversary.  The Association members and families began the festivities on Friday evening with a town parade that ended at the Greenwood Recreation Centre where they took part in the Opening Ceremonies at the Petroliia Squires vs Goderich Pirates Senior AA game.

Petrolia Minor Hockey President Chris Fryfogle read several congratulatory messages including one from Prime Minister Steven Harper.

The Peewee AE team sang the National Anthem and President Chris Fryfogle was on hand with young players and dignitaries for the opening faceoff.  Tim Bits players took to the ice prior to the game for some great action and in between first and second the Petrolia Tykes showed off their skills in a couple of scrimmage games.
