Legionnaires Were Outworked by Strathroy

October 12,  2012

Sarnia, On - "We had a lot of scoring chances tonight, but we got overworked tonight all over the ice they got to most of those pucks."  said Head Coach Dan Rose after the game.

Strathroy went up 2 - 0 after the first period with the first goal scored at 3:10 on a power play by Tyler Duarte and late in the period Nick Boyer added the second goal.

Jeff Bauer scored the lone goal for Sarnia on a power play early in the second at 1:47 after Jason Teschke took a shot on net and Bauer hit the rebound.  Davis Boyer was also credited with an assist on the goal.

Third period saw Sarnia battle back and in the final minute pulled their goalie but Strathroy came up with the empty netter with 12 seconds remaining in the game to give Strathroy the 3 - 1 win.

"We didn't play bad but I thought they fought harder than we did.  They battled for loose pucks and that something we got to learn. There has to be a second effort and extra gas in the tank for that. I think some of our guys are out of shape and it's showing."

Sarnia went 1 for 5 on the power play, Strathroy went 1 for 4.  The Legionnaires are now 4 - 4 -2 OTL,

The Legionnaires are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Lambton Shores for a 7:30 puck drop.
