The
Lambton
Jr.
Sting
Minor
Atom
AAA
took
on
the
first
place
Elgin-Middlesex
Chiefs
in
Komoka
on
Saturday
afternoon
and
put
together
a
very
solid
effort.
However,
this
young
team
could
not
hold
on
and
lost
the
game
5-4
in
the
final
minute
of
play.
The
two
teams
were
every
evenly
matched
in
the
first
period,
with
chances
at
both
ends
of
the
rink
but
both
goalies
stood
their
ground
and
the
score
remained
tied
at
zeros
through
10
minutes
of
play.
The
Chiefs
came
out
strong
in
the
second
and
had
a
3-1
lead
heading
in
to
the
third.
Andrew
Lemieux
made
a
nice
rush,
shorthanded,
to
scored
the
lone
goal
for
Lambton
in
the
period.
The
third
period
was
very
exciting
for
the
Lambton
faithful.
Lemieux
continued
his
offensive
outburst
by
scoring
3
more
goals.
His
2nd
goal
of
the
game,
came
just
1:02
into
the
period
and
seemed
to
spark
the
Jr.
Sting.
Assists
on
the
play
were
given
to
Owen
Peters
and
Rider
Nienhuis.
Lambton
continued
their
strong
play
and
on
the
stellar
offensive
output
of
Lemieux
were
able
to
tie
up
the
game
4-4
with
just
1:18
left
in
the
game.
Assists
were
given
to
Nicholas
Medeiros
and
Peters
on
Lemieux’s
3rd
and
4th
goals
of
the
game.
Unfortunately,
on
the
ensuing
faceoff,
the
Chiefs
rushed
in
and
scored
on a
low
shot
that
goaltender
Kaden
Gray
never
saw.
Final
score
:
Chiefs
5 –
Sting
4.
The
team
travels
to
Goderich
on
Saturday
to
take
on
the
Huron-Perth
Lakers
and
Cambridge
on
Sunday
to
take
on
the
Hawks.
Go
