It was a beautiful
Thanksgiving Monday,
the kids had filled
their stomachs with
Turkey, Potatoes,
and all the fixings.
But were still
hungry for a big
win, and they got
it!
The Sting headed
down to Oakridge
arena Monday night,
fresh from playing 4
games in 3 days over
the week-end, and
they did not
disappoint.
The first shift set
the tone, but the
second started the
feeding frenzy.
Hayen Griffin
started the flood,
rushing down the
side boards, and
rifled a hard shot
past the Oakridge
goalie, on the first
shot of the game.
This looked like a
good omen of things
to come.
The next shift saw
Spencer Baillie put
one away, with
assists to Evan
Trigatti and Matt
Waun. The next shift
had Andrew "Honey
Badger" Czyczurko
deflect one in from
a hard shot and
assist from Ian
Bailey.
They went to Center,
reset and Kaleb
Zeytinoglu got his
first of a Hat
Trick, from Cole
Goossens.
The Sting decided to
have a breather on
the feast, and still
in the first Colin
Zimmer ripped one in
from Tyler Talbot
Ellis, and Greg
Ross.
Finally, the
onslaught would end
with 6 seconds left
with Kaleb
Zeytinoglu getting
his second from
Andrew Ancyczurko
and Cole Goossens.
The teams decided at
this point, with a
6-0 deficit that
they should start
banging each other
around, and getting
to become friendly
with the Penalty
box. The Sting and
Oakridge each traded
Power plays for the
next 1.5 periods,
with the Jr Sting
moving players from
defence to forward.
In the third, the Jr
Sting put this one
even further out of
reach with Ian
Bailey getting one
from Greg Ross and
Kaz Gudelis.
Kaleb Zeytinoglu
would finish off the
nite, and his Hat
Trick on a nifty
shot with assist to
Czyczurko and
Damon Skinn - Wai.
The game ended with
a bit of scuffle in
front of the
Oakridge net, along
with some spirited
hitting. Honourable
mention to Aidan
"Kong" Clark for
defending the net.
The Score ended at
8-0 for the Sting.
