FOREST,
ONT -- The
Lambton Shores
Predator Junior
'B' Hockey Club
has announced
they will be
partnering with
the
Canadian Cancer
Society once
again to raise
awareness of the
Relay for Life
event in Forest
and ongoing
Breast Cancer
research.
Funds raised
during the
Predators
game on
Saturday
Oct. 13th
@ 7:30
pm vs.
Sarnia
Legionnaires
at the
Shores Arena
in Forest
will be
shared
between
breast
cancer
awareness
campaigns
and Relay
For Life
Forest.
With the
assistance
of local
supporters
and donors
Breast
Cancer
Statistics
have changed
rapidly over
the past
several
years.
Progress is
being made
against all
types of
cancer.
Breast
cancer is
the most
common
cancer among
Canadian
women and
one of the
Canadian
Cancer
Society's
most active
areas of
study. More
and more
women are
surviving
this
disease,
with
mortality
rates
falling by
more than 30
percent
since 1986.
"Relay For
Life Forest
and the
funds they
have raised
over the
past eight
years have
gone towards
the mission
of the
Canadian
Cancer
Society,"
Canadian
Cancer
Society
Fundraising
Coordinator
Paula
McKinlay
said. "With
the support
of Relay, we
can fund
Canada’s
best
researchers,
who work
tirelessly
towards the
next
breakthrough
in cancer
prevention,
diagnosis
and
treatment to
save more
lives."
"As the
fundraising
coordinator
for the
Canadian
Cancer
Society, I
take great
pride in
working with
organizations
such as The
Lambton
Shores
Predators
Jr. B Team
who share,
promote and
support our
mission and
what we are
trying to
do:
'eradicate
cancer and
enhance the
quality of
life of
those living
with
cancer.'"
“We are
pleased to
help support
the Canadian
Cancer
Society and
Relay For
Life
Forest”,
says Roop
Chanderdat,
Predators
Owner,
President,
and General
Manager. “I
encourage
our
community to
come out to
our game
Saturday
Oct. 13th
and support
this event”
