The Minor Peewee took a 3 win streak this weekend.
The first of their 3 games is a home game vs Chatham Cyclones. Chatham come out hard and crack off the first shot on net, goal tender Liam McCarthy fires it away and play continues. The Cyclones take the first goal with 1 minute 28 left in the first and Lambton battle hard to try for the equalizer but are beaten by the buzzer taking us into the second 1-0 down. The second period brought lots of aggressive play and Chatham score the second of the game. The Cyclones attempeted to score on their power play but was turned away several times by McCarthy. Both teams play hard but Chatham took another goal bringing the score to 3-0 against the Sting. With 2 minutes left in the second, Nolan Degurse scores for Lambton assisted by Dylan Riddell taking the Sting into the third 3-1 down.

Lambton came out fighting in the last period and Spencer Vandenboom scored on a power play assisted by Nolan Degurse and Matt McIntyre taking the score to 3-2 with just over 6 minutes left in the third.  Steel Harris took a shot and scored the Stings third assisted by Dylan Riddell and Josh McLean bringing the score to 3-3. The Cyclones receive a 4 minute penalty and Lambton took advantage with Ryleigh Vanderwal scoring their 4th goal assisted by Hunter Monkhouse putting them in the lead 4-3. Play continues in the Cyclone end with massive pressure on their net from the Lambton boys resulting in a goal by Dylan Riddell assisted by Nolan DeGurse in the last 1 minute and 29 seconds of the game giving the Sting a well deserved 5-3 win.

The second game was a home game vs Waterloo Wolves. Having beaten the Wolves on their last meeting the Sting were expecting a tough game - spectators weren't disappointed with play beginning hard from both sides. Waterloo grab the first penalty but Lambton are unable to score and the Wolves reply by taking the puck down to the Lambton net for the first of many shots on goalie Luc Thorne-Smith.  With the play in the Sting end once again the Lambton defense worked hard together and following more saves by Thorne-Smith they clear the puck. The Sting then attack the Wolves net and Ryan Barwitzki scores the first goal of the game assisted by Matt McIntyre with 1 minute 42 left in the first taking the game into the second period 1-0 to Lambton.

The second period brought penalties on both sides and a 4 minute penalty for the Sting gave the Wolves a power play advantage - great teamwork by the Sting and solid goal tending by Thorne-Smith render all their efforts fruitless and Lambton wnt into the third still in the lead 1-0.

The last period brought fantastic work by the Sting and a power play goal by Spencer Vandenboom assisted by Nolan Degurse and Dylan Riddell with 2 minutes 25 left in the third kept Lambton in the lead. Waterloo played hard attacking the Sting net but were unable to get the puck past Thorne-Smith leaving the final score at 2-0 for the Sting and giving goal tender Luc Thorne-Smith his first shut-out of the regular season.

The third game of the weekend was another home game this time vs Hamilton Huskies. The game was off to a slow start in the first period with shots on the Lambton net being turned away by goalie Liam McCarthy resulting in no goals on either side. Play sped up in the second with a lovely goal by Dylan Riddell assisted by Nolan DeGurse and Carson Perry giving the Sting a 1-0 lead. The Lambton boys dominate the third period bringing an unassisted goal by Spencer Vandenboom, the Sting stopped all efforts by the Huskies and Ryan Barwitzki scored the third of the game on a power play assisted by Spencer Vandenboom and Nolan Degurse - the game came to an end with Lambton taking the win 3-0 and goal tender Liam McCarthy his first shut-out of the regular season and a perfect end to the Stings weekend.
