The Lady Sting Midget A team knocked off the Bluewater Hawks 3-2 Wednesday night in Strathroy.
In a rather chippy affair Alex Godfrey got the Sting on the board first with a hard slap shot from just inside the blueline. Bluewater would tie things up late in the 1st. Lauren Wilson picked up the next 2 markers for the Lady Sting. Her first was a beautiful goal, beating the goalie high over the shoulder off a tough angle. Lauren’s winner came off some hard work in front of the Bluewater net.
Jordan Henry secured the win making a number of big saves throughout the game as the Lady Sting played a number of minutes shorthanded. The 2 points put the Ladies into second place and only 1 point out of first with a couple games in hand.
The Ladies are back at with a visit to London this coming Saturday to face off against the Belmont Blazers in a special game being held at the Budweiser Gardens (formerly known as the John Labatt Centre).
