Lambton Minor Peewee AAA Faced Huron Perth in Alliance Hockey Action

November 5, 2012

The Minor Peewee faced Huron Perth Lakers at home on Sunday

The game started hard with both teams playing well, the first shots on the Sting net were turned away and the period continued with the Lakers getting a power play. Good team work by Lambton produces no goal on the power play and the game moved into the second period with the score at 0-0.

The Sting continue to pressure the Huron net and the Lakers replied by pressuring the Sting net and scored the first goal of the game. The Lambton boys worked hard for an equalizer but the Lakers continue with the play in the Sting end. Another penalty for Lambton gives Huron their second power play advantage but Cory Smith wrestles the puck and skates for a brave short handed shot on the Lakers net which just falls short of scoring. No score on the power play again and the Lambton boys fight back bringing a great equalizing goal from Dylan Riddell assisted by Nolan DeGurse and Spencer Vandenboom. The second period ends with Huron taking their second goal and the boys enter the last period 2-1 down.

The third period brought more penalties and the Lakers scored on their power play. Huron dominate the rest of the third and despite 26 shots on Sting goalie Luc Thorne-Smith the Lambton boys took  4-1 loss.

This Friday the Sting boys travel to the Shanahan Warrior tournament.
