Michael Marinaro and Margaret Purdy Leaving on a Jet Plane for Russia

The top figure skaters in the world will compete in Sochi, Russia, from December 5-9, 2012 competing at the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating.  Canadian Junior Pairs Michael Marinaro of Sarnia and Margaret Purdy are leaving today to compete at the event.

Marinaro and Purdy are among the top qualifier in the pair category.   The couple won gold at both of their assignments on the junior circuit, in Lake Placid, U.S.A., and Zagreb, Croatia. They are coached by Scott Rachuk and Alison Purkiss at the Competitive Skating Centre of Strathroy.

The Junior Pairs competition begins on Thursday December 6 beginning with the short program and the free skate will be on Saturday Dec 8.
