Soccer finals set for LSSAA

Sarnia, ON - LSSAA soccer finals are set for both Senior Girls and Boys soccer as semi final match up were played Tuesday afternoon.

 

In Semi Final Girls Senior Soccer St. Christopher Cyclones moved to the finals by defeating the St. Clair Colts in a shut out 5 - 0 victory.  Melissa Blair, Michelle Save, Nicki Parkes, Alicia DaSilva and Jenelle Labadie each scored in the win.  Emily Donkers earned the shut in net.

 

In the second semi final game Northern earned their spot with a 5 - 0 shut out win over NLSS.   Scoring for Northern were Amy Burwell, Shae-Lynn vanGassen, Teaghan Gagne, Jessi Kozachuk and Alicia MacDougall each had single goals. Sharing the shutout win were Jessi Kozachuk and Teaghan Gagne.

 

 

In the Boys Semi Finals St. Christopher will move to the final after defeating SCITS in a close 2 - 1 game.  Mac Font and Kwin Kensley scored for St. Christopher and Tristan Wildschut scored for SCITS.  In the second semi final game Northern defeated NLSS by a final score of 4 - 1.

 

 

It will be familiar rivals in both the Senior Girls and Boys final games against the St. Christopher Cyclones and Northern Vikings.

Both Northern teams led the league in standings going undefeated (6-0) in the regular season. Also both teams at St. Christopher placed second in the standings race going 5 - 1.

 

In the Ladies LSSAA finals, this is the 7th year in a row for these two teams to met.  Northern leads with 5 championship wins.

 

In the senior LSSAA finals this is the 3rd year in a row that the Vikings and Cylones will meet. The Cyclones won the title in 2011 and the Vikings won the title in 2010.

 

The Championship games will are set for Thursday May 17 at Northern.  Senior Girls final will begin at 3:30, Senior Boys will begin at 5:30.

 

 

Also on Tuesday, LSSAA baseball action continued as NLSS defeated SCITS  9 - 6.
