Sarnia Beavers came up short in
Oakville

Oakville, On - The Sarnia Beavers
were on the road in Ontario Senior B
Lacrosse action and took a 9 - 5
loss against the Oakville Titans.
After
the first period both sides were
tied with 2 apiece. In a see
saw affair Sarnia scored first with
Michael Fleming scored the first
goal of the game. Oakville got
the equalizer on a power play.
Joel Cocarell regained the lead and
again Oakville evened the score near
the end of the period.
In
the second period Oakville score 3
unanswered goals to take a 5 - 2
lead after two periods of play.
In the third Oakville continued the
scoring streak, scoring the first
two goals before the Beavers Jamie
Pillon scored on a power play.
Oakville came back with another
before Sarnia added a pair the first
by Colin Holbrough and the second by
Brian Quinn. Score at this
point was 8 - 5 and in a final
effort the Beavers pulled their
goalie for the extra man attacker
only to have Oakville find the
opening and score into the empty
net.
Miller Rusbridge, Nicholas Grasby
and Shane Scott each scored two
goals for Oakville and Mike Gillan,
Stu Gordon and Simon Desousa added
singles in the win.
Greg
Krstic took the loss in net for
Sarnia, J Preece earned the with.
Sarnia is now 2 - 2 for the season
and are in third place in the
standings race.
Sarnia is back at home next Saturday
at 7:00 pm at Clearwater Arena to go
up against the St Catharines Saints
who are currently undefeated with 3
wins.
