Sarnia Beavers are now 2 - 1 for season

The Sarnia Beavers are now 2 - 1 for the season in OLA Senior B Lacrosse after taking an 8 - 4 win over the Norwood Champs on Saturday at the Clearwater Arena.

 

Sarnia went up 3 - 2 after the first period with Brad Holbrough scoring the first goal shorthanded assisted by Michael Fleming.  Chris Davey  added the second goal on the power play with Kevin Fines and Jeff Sauve assisting and Brian Quinn from David Hornblower scored the third.
Eric Bissell and Joel Wasson-Mcquigge scored for Norwood.

 

In the second period the Beavers went up 5 - 2 after scoring two unanswered goals.  Brian Quinn from David Hornblower and Brandon McFarlene scored the first goal and Hornblower from Fines and Quinn scored the second.

 

Third period action saw Joel Cocarell score on a powerplay from Michael Fleming.  Brian Quinn added his third of the game assisted by Fleming and Jamie Pillon and Justin Durston scored the final goal assisted by Kevin Fines.  For Norwood Mark Temple and Greg Reilly each scored singles.

 

Dan Walters earned the win in net for the Beavers. In net for Norwood was Cole Murray taking the loss.

 

Sarnia went 2 for 12 in power play opportunities, Norwood went 0 for 10.

 

The Beavers are on the road next weekend (May 12) to Oakville.  Next home game is Saturday May  26 at 7:00 pm at the Clearwater Arena when they take on the St. Catharines Saints, who presently are undefeated.
