In
the first half MIG scored the
first goal ten minutes into the
game. At the 20 minute mark
Jeremy Clever scored his first
goal of the season tying the game at
one a piece. This is when Esso
seemed to gain momentum as stopper
Taylor Smith scored on a
well-placed shot right below the
crossbar. Esso continued to put
pressure on the MIG defenders as
Jeremy Clever scored again from
just outside the 18 yard box making
it 3-1 in favour of ESSO. Then with
ten minutes left in the half Mike
Willigenburg put Esso up 4-1
chipping the MIG goalie that was off
his line.
Halftime
Whistle Blew with the score 4-1.
Fifteen
minutes into the 2nd half
MIG got themselves back into the
game with a nice flick past Dan
Walton. At the 70th
minute mark MIG player Mike Ward
made a nice run down the left
sideline and beat Dan Walton far
side making the score 4-3 in favour
of ESSO. Despite a few frantic
moments during the last 10 minutes
ESSO was able to hang on to the 4-3
win.
Hats off
to MIG who only had 11 players at
the game with no Subs on a hot and
muggy day. This Improves ESSO Record
to 2 Wins 1 Loss and 1 Tie. While
MIG remains winless at 4 losses, in
which there last two games were only
one goal losses.
Next up
for ESSO is a matchup against ANJ,
in which they have had 2 tightly
contested games. Kickoff is on
Wednesday June 20th at
6:30 on Germain # 2 Field.
