June 13th – Esso vs. City Centre Car Wash.
In Sarnia Men's Industrial Soccer it was Esso that came out strong in the first fifteen minutes, but couldn't convert any of their chances. Twenty Minutes into the Game City Centre Car Wash converted on a shot putting City up 1-0. Five minutes Later Esso was awarded a penalty kick, in which Kevin Parris put it past the sprawling City Goalie. The halftime whistle blew with the score 1-1.
At the 60th minute mark Zack Vanreenen fired a shot past the City goalie giving Esso a 2-1 unlikely lead. With time ticking down City had to take their chances being down 2-1, but City turned it over and with the goalie hustling to get back in position, Zach Smit slid the ball past the goalkeeper whom was at the 18 yard line making it 3-1 for Esso. The Final whistle went with Esso upsetting City Centre 3-1.
In Fact Esso has not defeated City Centre Car Wash since September 2007, In which an eighth seeded Esso team upset the #1 seed City Centre team in the 2007 playoffs.
Esso will now look to continue their momentum as they face MIG on Monday June 18th at Norm Perry Back field, Kick off is slated to start at 6:30 pm
