Esso vs. MIG Quarterfinals:
Both teams began their
campaign in the quarter
finals of the Carlton Cup a
New Look Esso Team with 13
new players came out strong
in the First Half as Sean
Smith Scored two before the
half, but MIG was still
hanging around with the
score line 2-1 at half
time. Esso did turn in on
in the second half with the
final score being 7-1 Goal
scorers were Sean Smith
finishing the game with a
Hatrick, Zach Smit with a
Pair as well as Brian Cook
scoring a pair. Dan Walton
Was the Keeper with quiet
night in net!
Mondays May 28th
Esso vs. ANJ Industrial
Semifinals of Carlton Cup:
This was a closely contested
battle, as things began to
get heated, and the game got
a little chippy, but no one
could find the back of the
net. The 2nd half
started the same way, with
very little opportunities
either way until at the 59
minute mark Zack Vanreenen
Put home a rebound to put
Esso up 1-0. At the 75
minute mark an ANJ
industrial player found the
back of the net making the
score 1-1. The final Whistle
went with the score being
1-1. As per Carlton cup
rules the game went straight
to penalty kicks. With Esso
losing in Penalty kicks 4-3
Wednesday May 30th.Esso
Vs. City Centre Car Wash:
This was the Final
Exhibition game for Esso
before they start their
regular season campaign:
Esso Went up on a cross from
Brian Cook to Justin
Whitefoot Converted on a
well-placed shot putting
Esso up 1-0, City Centre
Quickly responded with a
goal of their own and added
another goal right before
the half to put city up 2-1.
City Centre added a third
midway through the Second
Half. With the final score
being 3-1. Stu Jodrell
played the first half in
net. While Dan Walton played
the 2nd half.
Monday June 4th.
Esso vs. ANJ: Season opener
a rematch of the Carlton
semifinals. 10 minutes into
the Kevin Parris had a tap
in Goal after an Esso player
put it past the Goalkeeper,
leaving Parris with an empty
net. ANJ Replied from a
corner kick sliding it past
the Esso Goalkeeper Stu
Jodrell. The Half time
Whistle went with the score
being 1-1. In the 65 minute
Sean Smith put ESSO back in
the lead with a well place
shot. ANJ replied from a
failed clearance from Esso
defence making the score
2-2. The Final Whistle Blew
with the score end in a 2-2
Tie. Next up for Esso is a
matchup against the
defending league champions
Paton Controls.
