evening,
for
the
second
half
of a
double
header
for
the
St.
Thomas
Storm.
St.
Thomas
defeated
Glencoe
in
extra
innings
in
game
#1,
and
would
face
the
Alvinston
Indians
in
game
#2.
Kyle
Crawford
took
the
mound
for
the
Indians,
while
the
Storm
countered
with
Ryan
Cummings.
Alvinston
hit
the
scoreboard
quick
in
the
opening
inning,
when
a
one
out
single
by
Jamie
Shields
started
things
off,
and
Shields
would
come
around
to
score
after
a
single
to
centrefield
by
Chris
Drew.
In
the
fourth
inning,
the
Indians
added
another
run
to
their
small
lead,
making
it
2-0.
Jeff
Lyons
led
off
with
a
walk,
was
sacrificed
to
second
by
Doug
Charlton,
and
then
scored
on
an
RBI
triple
by
Aaron
Stocking.
St.
Thomas
would
score
a
run
in
their
half
of
the
fourth,
to
cut
the
score
in
half,
2-1.
After
the
fourth
inning,
it
was
all
Alvinston,
as
the
Indians
counted
three
runs
in
the
sixth,
and
two
more
in
the
seventh
inning.
In
the
sixth,
Jeff
Lyons
smacked
a
sharp
single,
then
stole
second
base,
and
scored
on a
Charlton
RBI
single
up
the
middle.
Kevin
Morgan
went
in
to
pinch
run
for
Charlton,
and
he
would
come
around
to
score,
on a
two
run
bomb
by
Stocking
on
the
first
pitch
he
saw.
In
the
seventh,
Joe
Triest
singled
to
lead
things
off,
and
Shields
followed
with
a
two
run
homerun
of
his
own.
The
final
score
was
Alvinston
7,
St.
Thomas
1.
The
win
moved
the
Indians
into
a
tie
with
Shedden
for
first
place,
as
each
team
has
an
identical
15-5
record,
and
4
games
to
play.
Kyle
Crawford
was
the
winning
pitcher
for
Alvinston,
pitching
seven
strong
innings,
while
allowing
4
walks,
and
2
hits,
while
striking
out
12
Storm
swingers.
Aaron
Stocking
and
Jamie
Shields
were
both
2/4
for
Alvinston
with
two
run
homeruns,
while
