Owen Sound, On - The Sarnia Beavers took a 19 - 8 loss against the Owen Sound North Stars on Friday night in their first game of playoffs in  Sr. B Lacrosse league action.

After the first period the score was close with the Beavers trailing by 1 with the score at 4 - 3.  In the second period Owen Sound widen the lead after scoring 7 goals and Sarnia scored 2.  And the result was much the same in the third as Owen Sound scored 8, Sarnia 3.

Michael Fleming earned 6 points in the game with 2 goals and 4 assists.  Other goal scores for the Beavers were Jeff Sauve, Chris Davey, Kevin Fines, Brian Quinn, Drew Davey and Mike Dawson.

Nate Sanderson scored 4 for the North Stars, Chris King 3, Adam Jones and Anthony Lackey each scored 2 and singles by Jamie Grimoldby, Nick Brown, Jordan McMillen, Mat MacLeod, Travis Gibbons, Darren Halls, Tyler Gibbons and Jeff Ivey.

Game 2 is tonight in Sarnia at the Clearwater Arena at 6:00 pm.
