Major Midget
In the regular season the
Midgets finished in 6th position with 9 wins, 19
losses, 1OTL and 2 SOL. In the first round
of playdowns they are up against 3rd place
Cambridge Hawks. (18-13-0-1).
In the first game
Cambridge opened the scoring just :09 seconds
into the game with Alex Pozzobon scoring.
Lambton answered back to even the socre with Mac
Colasimone scoring from Ryan Frizzell and Chad
Beauchamp.
Second period
again saw Cambridge take the lead when Ryon
Pereira scored, however midway Frankie White of
the Jr Sting tied things up assisted by Dylan
Symons and David Addley. Just over three
minutes later Mac Colasimone scored his second
of the day on a power play to give the Jr Sting
the lead. Justin Moore and Nicholas
Sproviero assisted on the goal.
Heading into the
third the Jr Sting led 3 - 2 however the lead
was short lived as they ran into penalty
troubles and the Hawks scored on the power play.
Score would remain the same given each team a
single point.
On Saturday the
Cambridge Hawks travelled under blistering
conditions to the RBC centre and took home a 3 -
2 win. No other information is available
at this time. The Cambridge Hawks lead the
series 3 points to 1. The two teams meet again
today in Cambridge for game three.
Minor Midget
After defeating the Waterloo Wolves in a 6 game
series the Minor Midgets are now up against the
#4 ranked team in the province, and the league
#1 the London Jr Knights Gold team.
In game one on
Thursday the Jr. Sting travelled to London and
came away with a 4 - 1 loss. London scored
3 goals in the first period with Kyle Pettit
scoring a pair and Jared Mccann scoring a
single. In the second Matthew Kenney
scored the lone goal for Lambton assisted by
Bradley Campbell. Before the period was
through London added their 4th goal by Keaton
Ratcliffe.Third period went scoreless giving the
Knights the win.
In game two on
Saturday the Jr. Sting lost 3 - 1 to London.
No other information is available at this time.
London leads the
series 4 points to 0. Game 3 is in
London Monday night.
Major Atoms
The 4th place Major Atoms
finished won their first series in 4 games
against the 3rd placce Elgin Middlesex Chiefs.
The Jr Sting took game one by a score of 4 - 2,
then game 3 & 4 both games ended in ties.
The first 6 - 6, the second 3 - 3. Lambton
lead the series 4 - 2 heading into game 4 on
Friday night in Komoka and came home with a 3 -
2 win to take the series. In the next
quarter fnal series the Jr Sting will meet the
London Jr. Knights who finished in first place
in the league.
