Under cloudy and threatening skies, the Sarnia Flag Football Association held the Bluewater Cup Championship on Sunday December 02 at Lansdowne Park in Sarnia. In this final game of the season, the 2012 regular season champs, the Bluewater Power Titans took on the defending 2011 champions, the Power Champs in what was a rematch of the 2011 championship game. It was a hard fought game where both sides held strong defense. However, the Titans scored early taking an early 2 touchdown lead and were able to comfortably ride this deficit for the entire game defeating the Power Champs by a final score of 28-24.
 

Scoring for the Titans were Jimmy Grasse and Jason Cain while Mike Haggerty tallied the majors for the Power Champs. While this Titan victory, the 7^th in 8 seasons, was truly a team effort, it was the once again the Titan offensive line that held the field providing the time for Titan QB Pat Wright to move the ball. Of special note with 8 receptions, 3 touchdowns, 2 interceptions and 5 flags, Titan Jimmy Grasse was selected as the Bluewater Cup Championship Most Valuable Player for 2012.

 

On Friday November 30, the SFFA held its league wind up celebration and All Star selection. Players selected by their peers in the league were honored on this night for their performance in the game through the 2012 season. Players receiving awards include:
