The Alvinston Flyers ended a seven game winning streak last night against the Wheatley Sharks in a 3 - 0 loss in Great Lakes Jr C hockey league action. Both sides were scoreless after two periods of play and in the third Wheatley scored three unanswered goals to take the win. Riley Babkirk, Kyle Quick and Sebastian Kanally each score for the Sharks.
Wheatley outshot Alvinston 39 - 25. Brad Jacklin took the loss turning away 36 shots. Nick Keeler earned the win with 25 saves.
Both sides went scoreless on four power play opportunities.
Alvinston remains in third place in the standings race with a record of 15 - 9 - 1 - 2 for a total of 33 points. Wheatley is in fifth spot with a record of 14 - 11 - 2 for 30 points.
Alvinston is back in action on Friday Dec 14 when they travel to Dresden for a 7:30 pm game start.
