Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Sarnia Sting forward Charles Sarault is the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending December 2 after recording eight points in three games including two goals and six assists with a plus-minus rating of plus-5.
After ending last week with his first career five-point game Saturday night against Peterborough, Sarault picked up right where he left off scoring two goals and adding three assists for his second career five-point game Friday night as second star of a 7-4 win over the Saginaw Spirit. On Saturday he helped the Sting defeat the Petes 5-2 and set-up three goals recording his 32nd assist of the season to move into a tie for second in the OHL in that category. The Sting were also victorious on Sunday with a 3-2 win over the Oshawa Generals.
Sarault, a 20-year-old from Fournier, ON, is playing in his fifth OHL season and second with the Sting. With 42 points including 10 goals and 32 assists in 29 games so far this season, Sarault ranks second on the club and ninth in the league in scoring.
Also considered for the award this week were Sting teammates Alex Galchenyuk and Reid Boucher who each scored five goals and three assists for eight points in three games. In goal, Kevin Bailie of the London Knights went 4-0-0-0 with a goals-against-average of 1.96 and save percentage of .944.
