The Sarnia Braves took a 2 - 1 win over the Port Lambton Pirates on Sunday in Western Counties Baseball action. Port Lambton scored the first run in the first inning to take the lead until the 5th inning when Sarnia scored both runs for the lead.
Sarnia had a total of 4 hits with Charlie Stubbs hitting 2 and singles by James Grant and Mitchell Bigras. Wade Babula pitched 6 innings striking out 1, walking 3 and allowing the single run. Anthony Shepherd came in to finish allowing 1 hit.
The Western Counties playoffs begin this week. Sarnia placed 1st in the standings and will take on 4th place Corunna. Game one is on Wednesday August 15 at 7:30 pm at Errol Russell Park. Game two is set for Thursday August 16 in Courtright at 7:30 pm.
