Lost in Blenheim

The Flags suffered their third in
loss this week ending the weekend after being downed
8 - 6 by the Blenheim Blades.
The Flags fell victim to penalties
as Blenheim scored four power play goals on seven
chances. The Flags scored two on seven
opportunities as well.
Blenheim took a 3 - 2 lead after
the first period then in the second Mooretown scored
3 goals and Blenheim scored 1 to give the Flags a 5
- 4 lead heading into the third. In the third
Blenheim scored first to tie, then Mooreotwn
regained the lead both goals on power plays and
Blenheim went on tied the game then took the lead
scoring the final power play goal and sealed the
game scoring an empty netter with a second left on
the clock.
Scoring for Mooretown were Dan
Lumley with two and singles by Ryan Lyle, Ryan
Jennings, Macgregor Haddon and Adam Hayes.
Jordan Durston led the Blades with
a 4 goal performance along with Drew Marlatt who
scored 3, Dylan Muzzatti scored the final goal into
the empty net.
Mooreotwn outshot the Blades 50 to
49. Mooretowns netminder Brandon Johnson took
the loss with 41 saves, Justin Pratt made 44 saves
in the win.
The Flags are now 6-6-1 and
are in 4th spot in the Great Lakes Jr. C Hockey
league.
The Flags has one game schedule
for next week on the road Sunday to Amherstburg.
