gave up a 5-1 lead and the Sharks took a 6-5 win.
Not this time.
After leading 5 - 1 in the second the
Flags went on and took the win with a final score of
9 - 2.
"I thought we played really well for
a full 60 minutes. Every single guy on the ice did
their job." Head Coach Jordan Pennesi said
"Especially last time we ended up losing to those
guys so it was nice to have bounced back and win
against them."
The Sharks opened the scoring early
in the game at 2:24 and held on to that lead until
16:25 when the Flags went on fire and scored three
quick goals in just over a minute.
Caden Fleming took a pass from Austin
Ainsworth and scored the first goal. Second
goal came just :34 seconds later when Jeff Schroeter
fired one in unassisted. Third goal came :31 seconds
later that was questioned by the Sharks after Brett
Thompson shot crossed the line the same time as the
net was kicked off it's pegs. Sam Jasmin and
Jack Magermans assisted on the goal.
In the second period the Flags
continue to dominate and scored four goals before
Wheatley added a single to end the period with the
Flags leading 7 - 2.
Austin Ainsworth added to the tally scoring two of
the goals in the second period. "I pretty well
just crashed the net and my line mates found me, it
was pretty simple for me." said the centerman from
Port Huron

first and Jack Magermans assisted on the second.
Sam Jasmin scored the other two goals
in the second with Brett Thompson adding assists on
both goals and Brandon Layman and Ryan Jennings also

Action went end to end in the third.

Jeff Schroeter scored his second goal
on a power play with Thompson assisting at :29
seconds into the period. Midway Brett Thompson
earned his fifth point of the night scoring the
final goal assisted by Sam Jasmin and Joey Stock.
"After last nights game nobody really
played good" Austin Ainsworth said about the 6 - 3
loss against Alvinston on Friday night. "We
knew we had to turn it around today and come out and
take one win out of the weekend. So we did what we
needed to do."
Eric Rivard and Austin Thompson scored the goals for
the Sharks.
Mooretown outshot the Sharks 37 - 29.
Brandon Johnson earned the win with 27 saves.

opportunities. The Flags took one penalty when both
sides were called for roughing giving Wheately zero
power play opportunities.
It is a tight race in the standings.

(Dresden) just beat Belle River recently so they
have turned it around this season so it will
definitely be a really good game."
On Saturday they are home hosting
Blenheim at 7:30 then on Monday they back on the
road for a rematch against Wheatley.
"If we do the same things that we did tonight we
have a better chance to win games." Pennesi said
