Mooretown Lost in Alvinston

The Mooretown Flags travelled to Alvinston and dropped a 6 - 3 decision against the Flyers in Great Lakes Jr. C Hockey league action.

 

Alvinston scored the only goal in the first period, added three in the second and two more in the third.  The Flags scored two in the second and one in the third.  

 

Dan Warner scored the only power play goal in the game in the first period for the Flyers.  Joe Archer added two goals in the game and Tyler Kettler, Karsten Berg and Sam Vokes each contributed with singles.

 

Macgreagor Haddon, Sam Jasmin and Dan Lumley scored for Mooretown.

 

Both teams took six minutes in total in penalties on three infractions.  The Flags went scoreless on the power play with four opportunities, Flyers went one on two chances.

 

The Flags are now 9-8-1-1 for a total of 20 points and have dropped to sixth spot two points behind Blenheim and one point ahead of Amherstburg with a game in hand on both teams.  Alvinston 11-8-0-1 is in fourth with 23 points.

 

The Flags are back in action tonight (Saturday November 23) when they host 2nd place Wheatley Sharks (13-6-1-0)  at 7:30 at the Moore Sports Recreation Centre.
