Mooretown Flags Add to Wallaceburg's Misery

The Mooreotown Flags added a win to their now 8-7-1-1 record after defeating the Wallaceburg Lakers 8 - 5 Wednesday night in Wallaceburg in Great Lakes Jr C League action.  The Lakers are having a dismal year only winning one game so far this season. (1-19) 

The Flags scored two goals in the first and second period and added four in the third.  Wallaceburg scored one goal in both first and second and battled back with three goals in the third.

Sam Jasmin and Matt Brandon led the Flags with two goals and singles by Caden Fleming, Chad Beauchamp, Brandon Layman and Dan Lumley. 

Ryan Gruszka scored two for the Lakers and singles by Frankie White, Justin Whitson and Justin Lindsay.

Mooretown outshot the Lakers 54 - 52.  Steven Taylor earned the win with 47 saves,  Matt Badour recorded the loss going 39:05 minutes with 35 saves on 40 shots and Wesley Hughson made saves 11 on 14 shots.

Mooretown went zero for one on power play opportunities, Wallaceburg scored one on three.

The Flags are back at home on Saturday November 16 when they host Amherstburg (9-6-1).  Game time 7:30 at the Mooretown Recreation Centre.
