Second Game Winner in Two Nights

The Mooretown Flags won two in a row after defeating Alvinston 3 - 2 Friday night then on Saturday the Flags took a 3 - 1 over the Wallaceburg Lakers in Great Lakes Jr C Hockey league action.
Wallaceburg took the lead in the
first period scoring the lone goal by Justin Whitson
unassisted. Dan Lumley tied the game in the
second on an unassisted goal.
For the second time in two night Ryan Lyle scored
the game winner with a third period goal seven
minutes into the period assisted by Clay Williams
and Sam McCormack. To finish the scoring
defenceman David Addley scored his third of the
season on a power play assisted by Macgregor Haddon
and Dan Lumley.
Wallaceburg outshot the Flags 34 -
29. Steven Taylor earned the win in net for
the Flags made 33 saves. Joel Sowinski made 26
saves for Wallaceburg.
Mooretown took a total of 23 penalty
minutes on 7 infractions, Wallaceburg tallied 11
minutes on 5 infractions.
Mooretown went one for three on the
power play, Wallaceburg went zero for five.
The Flags remain in sixth place with
41 points (19-17-1-2). Their final home and
regular season league game is on Saturday February
1st when the Flags host Amherstburg.
