Flags Trailing 0 - 3 in Playoff Round Against
Blenheim

On Sunday night in Blenheim the
Mooretown Flags suffered a 5 - 2 loss, their third
in the Great Lakes Jr. C playoff race against the
Blades.
In the last minute of the first
period Dan Lumley scored a power play goal to give
the Flags the lead heading into the second.
Adam Hayes and Sam Jasmin assisted on the first
goal.
In the second Drew Marlatt scored a
power play goal for the Blades to tie things up at
8:03. Blenheim added their second at 13:15 by
Justin Rossignol to take the lead that held heading
into the third.
Third period action saw Rossignol
scoring his second of the night to widen the lead to
3 - 1. Dan Lumley went on and scored his
second power play goal to narrow the gap but just
over a minute later Rossignol scored his third goal
for the hat trick and the Blades never looked back.
To finish the scoring Ben Pataki scored the final
goal at 16:59 for the Blades on another power play.
Blenheim outshot Mooretown 57 - 29.
Brandon Johnson made 52 saves for the Flags, Eric
Stewardson earned the making 27 saves.
Both teams scored twice on the power
play. Mooretown had seven chances, Blenheim
had six.
The two teams meet on Wednesday in
Mooretown in a must win situation for the Flags.
Game time 8:00 pm.
