Flags Battle Back To Take Second Win in Series Against Blenheim

The Mooretown Flags who were facing playoff elimination after being down 3 games against the Blenheim Blades bounced back and are back in the hunt after winning two games in a row.  The first win came on Wednesday night at home with a final score of 6 - 3 and then on Thursday the Flags traveled to Blenheim and came home with a 2 - 1 win.

 

The Flags took the lead in the first period at 14:07 with Ryan Lyle scoring from Spencer Bronzie and Sam Jasmin.  Early in the second Blades Justin Rossignol scored the only for the tie.  At 8:24 in the third Sam McCormack scored a power play goal and eventual game winner.  Sam Jasmin and Macgregor Haddon earned assists on the final goal.  Blenheim was denied in the last minute six man attack after the Blades pulled their goalie and the Flags took the win.

 

Blenheim outshot Mooretown 45 - 34.  Brandon Johnson made 44 saves in the win.  Adam Leboeuf made 32 saves.

Mooretown scored one on three power play opportunities.  Blenheim went scoreless on five chances.

 

Blenheim leads the series 3 - 2 and the two teams will meet in Mooretown for game six on Saturday February 15 at 7:30 pm.
