the Flags lost
for the second
time by a score
of 4 - 3.

In the first
period, Jeff
Schroeter scored
the first goal
on the power
play at 15:22
assisted by Dan
Lumley and
Travis Mullen.
Essex answered
back just over
two minutes
later to tie.
In the second
Mooretown took a
two goal lead
with the first
goal scored by
McGregor Haddon
fourteen seconds
into the period.
Dan Lumley and
Mike Burns
assisted.
Dan Hachey
widened the lead
at 9:21 assisted
by Adam Hayes.
At 12:07 Phil
Janikowski
narrowed the gap
but the period
ended with the
Flags leading by
one.
Third period
action saw Essex
score the lone
goal to tie the
game at three.
Alex Garon
scored the
equalizer.
Regulation time
ended and the
game went into
overtime.
As in the
previous game
back in
September
the referee's
once again
called a penalty
in overtime on
the Flags to
give Essex the
man advantage
which they
capitalized on
and scored to
take the win.
Tyler Raymont
scored the power
play goal for
the 73's.
Essex outshot
the Flags 43 -
13.
Despite the
loss, Brandon
Johnson was
outstanding in
net turning away
39 shots.
"Brandon
(Johnson) played
well and with a
lot of
confidence, he
was real steady
for us in net "
said Pennesi
"I am really
pleased with the
way the team
played tonight."
Aaren Romeril
took the win
with just 14
saves for the
73's.
Both sides went
1 for 5 in
penalty
opportunities.
Mooretown is now
1 - 4 - 2 OTL
for the season.
They are back in
action on
Saturday October
13 when they
host the Dresden
Kings.
